If you don’t know who, then its YOU!
So lets start this off lightly. Mostly to calm myself down so it is more usable information than an irrational rant.
Some people just can’t help it. Others can, but don’t want to try. And others know the difference and choose to manipulate the situation.
I read a statement somewhere that said “Not knowing the truth doesn’t make you ignorant. Not WANTING to know the truth, is what makes you ignorant.”
And there are certain situations where the infinite expression in that statements sinks in with noticeably more impact.
But for the purpose of this particular discussion, I need to dig a step deeper. So I will make the statement,
“Not knowing doesn’t make you stupid, IGNORING your knowledge, is what makes you stupid.”
With that said lets get into the crux of the discussion.
Quite often there are those that do things they KNOW they should not do. But they WANT to do them so badly they IGNORE the fact that they KNOW they shouldn’t.
Unfortunately, our society has developed to a point where it has become not only “acceptable”, but alas, CONDONED, to “play stupid”, so that you don’t have to be responsible for your choice.
This is similar to the old ideal that just because you didn’t know it was wrong, doesn’t make it right.
So lets hypothesize an example.
You KNOW that sugar rots your teeth. But you IGNORE that knowledge cause you want that damn sugar. You consume the sugar anyway. Years later you visit the dentist cause your teeth have rotted, and when asked why you did it, your response is, “I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to.”
Is it a good excuse?
Did you end up paying the price for your self inflicted delusion?
But, you got to consume that damn sugar didn’t you.
Here is the fundamental flaw in this ideology.
This is a prime example of short term gain with long term losses.
A quick fix is pretty much always a bad idea for a long term solution.
But what do you care. You got that damn sugar didn’t you.
Now, there are some people who honestly just don’t know any better. For instance, a petulant child.
Then of course there are those that know better but just don’t care. For instance, a petulant teenager.
Then there those that will play stupid in an effort to get away with something they are fully aware they shouldn’t have done. For instance, a petulant adult.
But this isn’t even the worst of it.
To add more fuel to the fire, it has now become a regular event to chastise those that know right from wrong, because they aren’t willing to ignore that knowledge.
Not only will they be completely aware that they shouldn’t.
Then, they will do it, and act as if they didn’t know they shouldn’t.
And, finally criticize everyone else that knew they shouldn’t.
All in an elaborate scheme to attempt justification for doing what they shouldn’t.
But now we have built our society around this illustrious double standard of an oxymoron. And found it not only promotable, but fashionable; to use STUPIDITY as an excuse for IGNORANCE.
It has come to pass that the responsible, rational, and intelligent people, must now tolerate, nay, dare I say “praise” these pathetic, infantile, and delusional parasites.
What the hell has the human race come to, when we celebrate stupidity, and chastise intelligence?
Why would anyone choose to be a pathetic meat sack when they could be a hero?
My good people this simple word is the answer to our exponential desperation.
Some are willing, others are not. Plain and simple.
It takes far less effort to “play stupid” than it does to be “responsible”.
Why waste your time “working” for a goal, when you can “play stupid” and take whatever you want with no consequences?
No consequences? You really think so?
Remember what I said about a quick fix for a long term solution?
Well you got that damn sugar now didn’t ya!
But then again, now your in the drill wielding dentist chair with rotten teeth.
So who’s screaming now?
