There have been some that question my interest in how law enforcement interacts with the public.
Some have said I’m too hard on them, others have indicated that I might not be objective enough.
Let me explain a few things.
As a younger individual I spent a fair share of my time on the “opposite side” of the “legal” lifestyle.
As I got older I got a little more mature and started to understand the importance of getting BOTH sides of every story before developing an opinion.
That combined with a developing sense of empathy I developed an understanding for <SOME> of the reasoning behind “law”.
I have been in security for the majority of my carrier. Sometimes physical security, sometimes technical, and other times consultation/information. My current position requires a close interaction with multiple levels of law enforcement.
Trust me when I say, I have seen BOTH sides extensively, and anyone who knows me is well aware that I don’t develop an opinion on any subject without getting plenty of information before hand.
As well, I am very adamant about remaining neutral on most subjects. I believe everyone has a right to there opinion. I don’t have to agree with them, but they have the right to believe as they choose.
So when I express an opinion, or post some information, it very well could be that I don’t personally agree with it, but I do feel that it is important information.
My greatest concern is that there are far too few individuals whom take one piece of information as “gospel” and base their conclusion on the one side of the story.
ALWAYS ASK WHY! LEARN FOR YOURSELF! NEVER TRUST ONE SOURCE!.
The idea is to develop YOUR OWN OPINION and not just simply ADOPT SOMEONE ELSES!
But I am that way on ALL issues not just law and politics.
The reason I have singled out law enforcement for the purposes of this discussion is the recent increase in “tension” between law enforcement and the rest of the population.
There has long been a misconception that law enforcement is in place for a specific purpose, and that they are somehow different, segregated, or even better than the rest of the population.
But the truth is, they are just people too. They are subject to potential mistakes, misinformation, failure, and weakness that any of us are. And NOT ALL ARE THE SAME!
They are in no way benevolent or better than anyone else. The only flaw is that many of them are misguided by the same illusion of “authority” or “superiority” that is perpetuated by social misinformation.
The reality is that this same “ego” is obvious in MANY members of society whether they are in possession of a shiny badge or not.
Here is an example of “assuming” something, and bravo to the creators of the video for admitting the fallacy of the assumption and correcting it.
In this video they have “assumed” that law enforcement would be an “authority” on a subject, when in fact they quite often know less about it, then a plethora of other possible sources. And finally admit that this assumption was based on what THEY themselves know. But not everyone knows the same things. And just having a “title”, a “position”, or being affiliated with any specific “group” should never automatically suggest “credentials” that any specific individual has not earned.
Here are some other things to keep in mind when you discuss law enforcement.
First, know what they are and what they are not.
They are NOT there to “Serve And Protect”. There are numerous Supreme Court ruling that verify this.
Their job is to “enforce law” regardless if the “law” they are enforcing is justified or not.
The only position of law enforcement that is “voted in” by the population is your County Sheriff. And since they are voted in, they ARE POLITICIANS.
The others are hired or appointed by politicians solely for the purpose of imposing that politicians definition of the “law”.
Ever stopped and thought about how many “laws” you actually got to “vote” for or against?
Second, remember that everything Hitler did during his rein was “legal” according to the “law”. So politicians are NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!
Third, “law” is not about safety, its about “control”. Under all circumstances. The illusion of safety is simply a means to justify the implementation of rules and regulations (control) that will be referred to as “law”.
Fourth, again remember that YOU did not “hire” them. They are NOT looking out for YOUR best interest. The money they are paid with did not come from you “voluntarily”. They are paid by your local municipality and its politicians, that have demanded that money from you under threat from the very individuals that they hired with it. You are forced to pay for those individuals that are ensuring you WILL pay for them to be employed. There is a word for this, its called extortion.
Fifth, this corrupt system is not solely the fault of the individual standing in front of you with a badge shining in your face. So you can’t take it all out on them. And if your doing something morally reprehensible, than you shouldn’t be mad that someone called you on it, regardless if they have a shiny badge or not.
Sixth, the previous statement does not absolve them of ALL responsibility. Just like the rest of us, they too must be held responsible for their choices.
Seventh, creating or enforcing law does NOT place them “above” it. It is equally applied to them as it is to all of us. That is why they like to change them so frequently.
Eighth, the reason they drive the propaganda, the illusion, and the attempts to “manipulate” the law, is because they know fully well that the “authority” that they proclaim is purely fictitious. For them to maintain that “authority” requires that the “people” continue to accept the illusion. When the truth is, in the United States, the PEOPLE ARE THE LAW AND THE AUTHORITY!
Ninth, law enforcement individuals are people too. They posses the same rights as the rest of us.
Tenth, while ALL law is control, look carefully and you will notice that most are implemented purely for financial gain. So again, you are forced to pay, for a group of people, who’s job description is specifically to site you for “infractions”, in an effort to force you to pay more money. Again, there is a word for this, its called extortion.
We are ALL equal in natures eyes. And the only way that equality can be diminished, is if we allow ourselves to believe it is true.
In the end the members of “law enforcement” have no “authority” to violate our rights, any more than we have to violate theirs.
They simply rule you through fear, and the illusion of “authority”. If you don’t do as we say, then we will take things from you.
This means the “system” is corrupt, but does not automatically imply that ALL the individuals within it are.
Every individual should be judged on their OWN SPECIFIC merits. There is no title, position, or group affiliation that can make you something you are not. And you should never assume that because they possess one these things, they are somehow automatically entitled to any preferential treatment. Everyone should be judged by their OWN actions, their OWN knowledge, and their OWN personality. Having a “title”, a “position”, an affiliation with a certain group, or even a shiny badge doesn’t insulate them from that requirement.
Each and every individual is responsible for their own choices. There are “good” people, and there are “bad” people.
Which are which is a matter of personal position, opinion, and perception.
The golden rule still applies, “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.”
So if you don’t want to be treated like crap, it is imperative that you don’t treat others like crap.
Regardless of which side of the shiny badge you are on.
