Ok, So I have gotten around to taking the ole boy out on the Interstate. No big deal really, nothing too fascinating. And therein lies the major flaw.
It was very apparent to me, that while the bike and myself are perfectly capable of traveling on the Interstate, the Interstate just has no appeal. When I am on my bike, I have a completely different interest in the world around me. And the truth be told, the Interstate provides nothing to appease my appetite.
I’m just a “cruiser” kind of guy and therefore I purchased a “cruiser” kind of bike. I’m not interested in “speed”, and I don’t care about “convenience”. The Interstate is just plain too “modern”, “cold”, and to be quite frank, “soulless”.
So I have determined that even if the Interstate is available, my “inner being” is vastly more satisfied by the “scenic” road ways that provide a far better trip through my countries “heart and soul”. I’ve decided that I will endeavor to seek out “alternative paths” to my destinations for any “road trips” that I will take. I have already tested my theory, and am quite aware that these “alternative paths” will be exponentially more gratifying to trek astride my loyal steed.
Maybe it just me, but “getting away from it all” is far more effective when you actually do. Then again, that’s just one riders opinion.
