It might be just me but, maybe some of us feel that violence and hate do nothing but exasperate an already volatile situation. One can be open minded without being stupid.
I don’t see this as ignorance, to say it is, simply sounds like arrogance.
The idea is to worry more about your OWN life than assume any authority over another life.
I suppose I would rather be too open minded than too judgmental on the way other people choose to live their lives.
How they live is their choice and is no concern of mine until such time as their choices violate my life or liberty.
When that occurs I have the right to defend myself. Simple as that.
The interesting part of everyone who is complaining about “extreme” religions is that they themselves (or as such their “religion” ) are usually guilty of the very same “infractions”.
A little walk through religious history will quickly show that EVERY religion is guilty of a great many atrocities.
Each religion taking its turn with prominent public recognition. So really who cares.
Still comes down to one simple point. Do what you will, and if you choose violence, sooner or later you will run into some one that will refuse to be violated.
Bring your feeble rage to bear against me or my family and I will be more than happy to personally deliver you to your deity.
I will happily place my love for my family and myself against any hate against my beliefs, on any day, under any circumstances.
I am confident in myself, and my faith. I have no reason to fear. Least of all, any whom would live in fear, hate, or rage.
Here are questions to ponder.
Should we blame those that promote violence, or should we blame those that cower in fear of that violence for not defending themselves?
Or even better, should we not enact blame on either, and simply realize that both make a choice, and both live or die responsible for that choice?
I don’t ask anyone to agree with anything, I simply ask everyone to be responsible for their own choices.
If that is being “Too Open Minded” then I am guilty as charged.
