What does the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution Mean?
For those that don’t get it.
The United States Constitution
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Lets start at the beginning shall we.
“A well regulated militia” Meaning – a well regulated militia, or to adjust so as to ensure accuracy of operation a body of citizens enrolled for military service, and called out periodically for drill but serving full time only in emergencies. “being necessary to the security of a free state” Meaning – necessary to the security of a free state, or being essential, indispensable, or requisite to the freedom from danger, risk, etc.; safety of a person or thing, as with respect to circumstances or attributes enjoying personal rights or liberty, as a person who is not in slavery “the right of the people” Meaning – the right of the people, or in accordance with what is good, proper, or just as applied to the entire body of persons who constitute a community, tribe, nation, or other group by virtue of a common culture, history, religion, or the like. “to keep and bear arms” Meaning – to keep and bear arms, or hold or retain in one’s possession; hold as one’s own and to hold up; support, arms. weapons, especially firearms. “shall not be infringed” Meaning – shall not be infringed, or shall not commit a breach or infraction of; violate or transgress.
So, in summary, the RIGHT of the PEOPLE to BEAR ARMS shall NOT be INFRINGED, so that they can form an EFFECTIVE, and ORGANIZED MILITIA, in the event of an EMERGENCY!
